The Shiba Inu blockchain saw a considerable improvement today. The Heimdall and Bor hard forks are active. They aim to improve performance and stability and include an upgradeable recording contract.
Heimdall’s hard fork
According to the official documentationThe latest version of Heimdall update i.e. v1.07-bone has been released for the Shibarium blockchain.
Among the many features of the update are:
- Documentation improvements
- Improvements in code validation.
- Dependency updates;
- Bug fixes, etc.
After the hard fork, Shibarium validators must update to the version before the Dencun hard fork takes place on Bor. This would ensure compatibility with Ethereum (after its fork) by updating the bor package to version 1.3.7, which is now capable of handling blob transactions that were introduced by the Dencun hard fork on Ethereum.
Bor’s hard fork
This particular release focuses on performance improvements, blockchain management, and security, as well as incorporating certain mergers.
One of the biggest features of the Bor update is the new burning contract. According to the official documentation:
We are updating the recording contract to an upgradeable version to support exciting future updates and improvements. The new burning contract was deployed at address 0x541F60e5576764cA3957f70b6a1E60f3CE5886e0 in block 8200512, playing a key role in the deflationary mechanics of the ecosystem.
