We are delighted that Kim Exchange is expanding the Governance Games Modeby introducing fractal meters that distribute even more rewards to the liquidity pools in their protocol.
Kim is a decentralized exchange (DEX) on Mode that leverages a mathematical formula to price assets, allowing for seamless trading without the need for a traditional order book. Kim is designed as a modular and efficient protocol, allowing both builders and users to leverage their customized infrastructure for deep, sustainable and adaptable liquidity.
Similar to The governance of the modeKim implemented a governance model of calibrations and vote deposit (ve). This approach ensures aligned incentives, reduces coordination overhead, and accelerates network growth.
Kim’s governance and its indicators not only align incentives among stakeholders in its protocol, but also contribute to a broader alignment of incentives across the Mode ecosystem:
- Fractal meters: Mode indicators distribute funds across the Mode ecosystem and connect directly to Kim indicators, which then allocate resources to specific liquidity pools (LPs).
- User-centered approach: MODE token holders who vote for Kim on Mode meters receive KIM tokens, immersing them in the Kim community and its similar governance system.
- Reduced governance overhead: KIM holders allocate their voting power through meters, eliminating the need to continually vote to approve proposals.

With Aragon OSx, new governance models are modularized into plugins, allowing protocols to easily and securely adapt their governance strategies over time. Once published, these plugins can be adopted by any DAO through the Aragon OSx plugin repository, fostering an interoperable governance ecosystem on Ethereum.
Kim leveraged Mode’s governance plugin to implement his DAO, benefiting from the modularity and network effects of Aragon OSx.
