President Donald Trump has presented a new $500 billion investment plan called “Stargate”designed to build artificial intelligence (AI) data centers across the United States.
during a Press conference on January 21.Trump confirmed that Early investors in the project include OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle.. Other contributors include MGX, while Microsoft, Arm and Nvidia were named key technology partners.
He highlighted that Stargate could create “more than 100,000 jobs” for American workers.

OpenAI clarified in a statement of January 21 that he $400 billion will be allocated over the next four years to further expand the initiative.
Meanwhile, Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank, announced that $100 billion of the total funding would be used immediately to begin development.
Trump highlighted the Importance of maintaining AI advances within the US. He stated:
China is a competitor, others are competitors. We want it to be in this country and we are making it available.
OpenAI emphasized that the project aims to boost American industry and contribute to national security ensuring the country’s leadership in the development of AI.
Stargate is also a step towards the advancement of artificial general intelligence (AGI)which OpenAI believes will benefit society. OpenAI stated:
This new step is critical along the way and will allow creative people to discover how to use AI to elevate humanity.
Construction has already begun at Oracle’s facility in Abilene, Texas.which will house the first Stargate data centers. OpenAI noted that additional sites are being considered to support future expansions.
