Sitpoenas PNP two local vasps in Anson
The National Police of the Philippines (PNP) revealed that the electronic wallets without a license linked to the casinos Junket operators were used to channel the rescue money in the case of kidnapping of ANSON that, which later became cryptocurrency.
The parts of the funds passed through multiple digital platforms and were traced for virtual asset services (VASP) providers registered and not registered, which led to the PNP to cite two exchanges with local license.
The Money and PNP anti-lacked council emphasized the need for greater regulation, including the closure of illegal garbage vesps, revoked casinos associations and the extension of laws against money laundering to cover more entities. They also plan to press for more strict KYC measures and a closer collaboration with local and international regulators.
The authorities are now working to preserve and potentially confiscate digital assets linked to crime, while the ongoing investigations aim to discover wallets and additional cryptography platforms involved in the washing process.
Cryptobilis Bitcoin Pizza Day 2025
Cryptobilis, in association with the tangm hardware wallet manufacturer, will house Bitcoin Pizza Day 2025 on May 30, 2025, at the Metratnt Convention Center in Ortigas, Manila, celebrating the historic Bitcoin transaction in 2010 when 10,000 BTC were used to buy two pizzas.
The event, which extends from 3:00 pm to midnight with tickets that begin in ₱ 199, promises a larger and more immersive experience than last year’s meeting, which attracted more than 500 cryptography enthusiasts.
