Cryptography people are always like, “I, be careful” But most of the time that only means:
-
Do not publish your private keys (preferably);
-
Do not click any random link;
-
Do not tell your taxi driver about your cryptography earnings.
But Kraken’s The security chief, Nick perceived, said something that we often forget:
You need to be careful Even when you are surrounded by crypto.
Cryptographic conferences are becoming larger, more busy and much more global. And while that is great It also means more possibilities for scammers to mix unnoticed.
|
So, we break What Kraken’s security team saw In recent events:
1/ people leave laptops and phones out there.
Unlocked. In working mode. In public.
Reminder: Your device is Your wallet. Block it or, Even better – Take it with you.
2/ stop talking about great trades in public.
Kraken’s team listened to some boys to talk about their trades, while using conference badges with their names and companies in them.
You never know who is listening. Be lowkey.
|
3/ Do not trust the public Wi-Fi.
It is not safe. Especially in events full of hackers.
Don’t do it: Use a VPN or adhere to your mobile access point.
4/ Be careful with QR codes.
They are on each wall and cabin, but an exchanged sticker is all that is needed for a scammer to drain his wallet.
5/ Not everyone who says they are.
Even if they use a brand shirt or say they work in a cryptographic company, verify them and do not establish.
|
The main point:
Crypto goes in the mainstream, which means that scammers are too.
So don’t be lazy just because you’re surrounded by “Crypto Bros”. Block your things, stay silent about your trades and do not trust each type in a sweatshirt with a sweatshirt with a boring monkey.
Just remember: You are not being paranoid, you are being intelligent.
Now you are aware. But think of your friends, they probably have no idea. I wonder who could fix that … 😃🫵 Run your voice and be the hero that you know you are! |
