Interview with Mommy Julie de YGG

Starting its web3 trip

Michael Mislos, bitpins: In the MFW movie, he mentioned that he used to be very shy before joining Web3. Can you tell us more about your life before this industry?

Mommy Julie, YGG: Hi, I’m Mom Julie, and I started my web3 trip through Axie Infinity during her first days.

During pandemiaMy daughter was the first to start playing Axie. She came to me and said: “Mom, look at this game! But it’s nasal hemorrhage (difficult to understand).” At that time, we had no job, and I saw that Axie was a great financial aid. Then I thought: “Why not try too?”

I got into thatAnd Axie became my first web3 game.

My daughter and me He started playing together, but there were funny moments. Sometimes, she had an exam and could not finish her energy in the game, so I asked me: “Mom, can you play for me? Dear Ang SLP! “

This is how I got involved. And honestly, it really helped us a lot. Axie provided us with a way of buying groceries and daily needs.

From games to a web 3

Mislos: Then, Axie began as a union activity, but later, you found a web3 race. How did that happen?

Mommy Julie: Yeah! After playing Axie, I saw an opportunity in YGG (performance guild games) to become a community manager. I requested and began to administer a community of more than 200 academics in Iloilo. That was my first web3 job, as an Axie manager.

Later, YGG opened a job opportunity for an event assistant. As I wanted to explore more, I requested it. Fortunately, they hired me! Now, I’ve been with YGG for three years.

From corporate work to web3: a great change

Before joining web3, did you ever imagine working in games or blockchain?

Mommy Julie: You are welcome! I came from the corporate world and worked there for 14 years. I never imagined in games or web3. I thought that the only way to win well was to remain in a traditional corporate work.

But nowI experienced something that I never thought it was possible: freedom of time.

Like momHe used to fight to balance work and life at home. I had to wake up early, cook, prepare my son for school and then run to work. Now, I still get up early to do homework and prepare food, but the difference is that I can work from home while I do it!

That flexibility It’s something I never thought I could have before.

Games as union experience

Mislos: It seems that web3 helped you join your daughter more. What was the funniest part of playing together?

Mommy Julie: One of the best things we did was to join YGG’s GAP (guild progress program), an incentive game program.

Before bedtimeWe would play together and guide her. It was not only fun, but helped us connect more.

As a fatherIf you understand and join your child’s interests, it makes conversations at home more attractive. Instead of asking: “How was your day?”, Do you have something fun to talk about and link.

That is something that I want more parents to experience.

Overcome shyness to become a public speaker

Julie aspires to the attention center

Mislos: Before web3, you said you were too shy to even order in McDonald’s. Now, you talk at events! What changed? What was the turning point?

Mommy Julie: In YGG, I saw many content creators and public speakers, and I was inspired.

At first, I was terrified of talking in front of people. But through small interviews and live broadcasts, I slowly got used to it.

Now, although I still get nervous, I have much more confidence than before.

Encourage more parents to explore web3

Mislos: In YGG events, we see students, parents, even older people who attend. But not many mothers or fathers are active on web3. What advice would you give parents to explore this industry?

Mommy Julie: I really encourage parents to explore web3 along with their children.

When parents Be interested in the digital activities of your children, create a stronger bond. Even during meals, instead of asking “how was the school?”, Actually, you can talk about something they love.

That’s why I tell the parents: “Don’t be afraid to learn!”

Web3 is not just about games, but there are many opportunities here.

Next steps and future objectives

Mislos: Now that you have left your comfort zone, what’s still for you?

Mommy Julie: I want to continue encouraging parents to explore digital skills with their children. I also dream of organizing a “Mom Tournament”, where mothers play together!

Regarding content creation“I am not a full -time content creator, but I do it as a lateral hustle and bustle.”

Mislos: That is actually a great approach: instead of jumping full time, people can start web3 as a first side hustle. Any final word for our audience?

Mommy Julie: Explore Web3! There are so many opportunities beyond games: learn, improve and find what works for you.

Final thoughts

Mom Julie’s story It is proof of how web3 is creating new opportunities for the Filipinos, offering not only income, but time, flexibility and personal growth.

Your trip—I of corporate work to Web3 Professional – shows that success in this space is not only for technology experts or first users. Anyone who is willing to learn can find their place.

With the caravan of the Filipino Metaverse (MFW) worker Starting this April in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bicol, Iloilo and Manila, more Filipinos will have the opportunity to explore new possibilities.
