Sec is optimistic about the next IPO of GCASH
The Bag and Securities Commission (SEC) expressed its optimism on the initial public offer (IPO) GCASH planned in 2025, but clarified that the company has not yet submitted a formal request for exemption from the 20%public flotation requirement. The SEC Commissioner, Mcjill Bryant FernƔndez, said that, although GCASH has communicated with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), no official discussions have been made with the SEC. He stressed that any exemption request would require a formal application and that the commission would need to evaluate market conditions and offer size before making a decision.
GCASH officially announced his OPI plans at the beginning of 2024. The CEO of Globe Telecom, Ernest Cu indicated that GCASH can seek a reduction in the public flotation requirement up to 10% to facilitate the offer.

For Becislao, the key success metric of the initiative is the economic impact instead of only the number of trained developers. He stressed that even if only 100 developers ensure high payment roles within apt or a handful of new companies collect significant funds, would create a substantial dominant effect on employment creation and economic growth.
