The recent kidnapping of Ledger co-founder David Balland and his wife have shaken the crypto community, as details of their rescue emerge.

The kidnapping
On January 21, David Balland and his wife were kidnapped from their home, with the perpetrators demanding a ransom of 100 BTC (~$10 million). Balland’s severed finger was sent as evidence to co-founder Éric Larchevêque.
