The fake job offer that cost a crypto wallet

A user @diego_gg95, recently got caught in a online scam that wiped out his entire cryptocurrency wallet.

Started with account X, @0xAlpha_Wolf, offering a fake part-time job as a community manager for an online project. At first everything seemed legitimate: all links to social networks and the project website were verified, so the user felt quite safe.

Things took a darker turn when the scammer shared a Discord linksupposedly for the project community.

After joining the Discord server, the scammer sent a code to download a “game in development”. However, when the victim tried to download it, their browser flagged it as possible malware.

That should have been a big red flag, but the scammer smoothed things over and said the developers were working to fix the problem.

The victim, trusting the scammer, ignored the browser’s warnings, thinking their antivirus software would detect anything incomplete. The file looked clean and even passed antivirus scans..
